Abstract
This is a story of a dispute engendered by the latent antagonism between a polygamous clan headman and his first born son over the matter of succession. The immediate cause of the dispute was the father's decision to marry his daughter to someone she disliked. This prompted the son to take his sister's side. The emotional reaction of the disputants, and of the community, as the conflict progressed is told in a continuous narrative.
