A primitive Arcadia

T. Fisher Unwin Ltd.London • Published In 1926 • Pages:

By: Silas, Ellis.

Abstract
Silas, an artist, spent several years living in the Trobriands in a native village. He learned the language. His observations of native life seem to accord very well with the facts presented by Malinowski and other trained observers. Much of the book is concerned with a description of his experiences on the islands. Valuable information on native art work and material culture is presented.
