Abstract
Part one of this book shows life in an Anatolian village through the eyes of a small boy as he observes a range of activities--from house building to leaving for the army or taking a Turkish bath. Part two is a more conventional analysis of village culture-the basic economy, and socio-political structure. Especially noteworthy are the chapters on language, formal religion, and folk beliefs.
