Abstract
This article follows as a clinical note to Culwick's monograph (source No. 61, this file). Writing in a rather technical medical style, the author, a physician and medical officer offers a clinical survey of nutritional ill health and its relation to disease among the southern Zande. He discusses the symptomatology and other pathological evidence for malnutrition and dietary deficiencies among a subject population of Zande male and female youths and adults in one of the Zande chiefships. Claiming his evidence for the etiology of these physical disturbances as due to malnutrition and dietary intake is not conclusive, he feels that more research should be done to discover what exact relations malnutrition and dietary deficiencies have to both the symptoms he list and to other diseases.
