Abstract
This is a report about a field expedition to the Warao Indians by a team of eighteen persons -- students as well as qualified researchers -- from various departments of the Universidad Central de Venezuela (Sociology and Anthropology, Medicine, Education, Geography and Agronomy, Economy). The stay in the field lasted about two weeks during which time the members of the medical and physical anthropological team collected a good amount of somatological and physiological data (anthropometry and blood-examinations). Ethnographers, sociologists, and psychologists who visited several Warao settlements with the aid of an interpreter well known to the Indians were able to collect definite data on settlement patterns and clothing. Otherwise, they could only outline plans and problems for further ethnographical and psychological research among these Indians.
