Abstract
The author, a professional anthropologist, describes the past and present religious practices of the Mundurucu. In the course of this description, some material is given on other aspects of the culture as they existed in the past, and the effect is shown of White contact, both of missionaries and rubber traders. Included in the work are descriptions of native ceremonies, shamanistic curing, witchcraft, and the texts of 58 songs and folktales.
