Abstract
This document is divided into two parts, the first of which presents a detailed study of Zuni culture history (including data on acculturation, archaeology, and relations with the Spanish and early missionaries), while the second part presents the text of a great number of Zuni creation myths. These myths, according to the author, form the basis of many cultural elements existing in the society, as, for example, illustrated in dances, dramatic performances, the organization of the religious societies, and even in the everyday philosophy of the Zuni people.
