Abstract
This source consists primarily of texts of popular tales which, according to Callaway, were told by women to children. The author collected these tales in the Zulu language. His transcription in Zulu appears on the left of each page and a literal English appears on the right half of the page. Footnotes and appendixes to the tales contain some ethnographic information and copious references to similar motifs and tales in other parts of the world.
