The Havasupai are a Yuman-speaking Native American group located primarily in Cataract Canyon, part of the Grand Canyon, in northwestern Arizona. Traditionally, the Havasupai lived in bands of related families and their subsistence was based on the cultivation of maize, beans, squash and melons in irrigated fields supplemented by gathering and hunting. Religion centered around shamanism and magical healing.
